Importance of Prayer - Alby Kurian ChackoSunday School Student, Staines Area

What is prayer?

Prayer is a communication process which allows us to talk to God. Through prayer we can express our gratitude, fears and our tensions and desirers for the future and our hope for others.

What do we say when we pray?

We need to ask Jesus for forgiveness of sins; tell him about our needs and thank him because he died on the cross of Calvary to save us from our sins and everyone that believes him will not perish but have internal life.

How can we pray?

We can pray by speaking out loud or thinking in your head etc. Some prayers are recited from memory or read from a book.

Take time to pray?

We can pray anytime anywhere anyhow. We must know our purpose of prayer. While we pray we need to hold your hands together head bowed, close our eyes and pray thankfully, and praise the lord and end our prayer positively.

Power of prayer

Prayers helps to strengthen our family, praying as a family strengthens our love as we pray for each other. Family prayer can bless our children and for the future generation to come.

Prayer brings blessings and peace to our home. The heavenly father wants to give answers to our familyprayers, and also he wants to full fill the righteous desires. When you pray as family the Holy Spirit can bring the feeling of comfort and spirit of love to our home. Family prayer can ease family tensions and brings everlasting happiness to our family. Prayers can helps to make you more patient,  more king and more forgiving and more humble.

Prayers blesses our society

When our family pray together, we also remember the need of others. Help to realise that there are people around the world who are sad, poor or in need of help. Daily prayer can in force our family values and as a family we can help to change the fibre of our society.

To conclude my topic I would like to say that we must pray as a family every day for the blessings of ourselves and also for our society.

                                                                       Thank you.
